The Apothecary Garden at Faust Park, Chesterfield

Hosted within the park's Thornhill Historical Site, the garden serves as a living history exhibit, showcasing plant varieties that would have been essential to a 19th-century homestead for more than just aesthetics:

  • Medicinal Plants: Often referred to as "apothecary" or "physic" plants, these were used for healing and health maintenance.

  • Culinary & Fragrance Herbs: Includes herbs used for cooking and aromatic plants used for making scents and air fresheners.

  • Ornamental Plants: Traditional flowers and greenery that were popular during the 1800s.
